Ethereum Foundation Can Begin Post-Quantum Account Preparations Now at $0.07 Cost, Says Kohaku Lead

According to Foresight News, Nico, lead of Ethereum Foundation's Kohaku privacy project, stated that Ethereum can now begin account-level preparations for the post-quantum era without waiting for underlying hard fork upgrades. The implementation cost is only $0.07 per account.

Nico disclosed that a review has been completed with Fable, with formal audits underway. The research was reviewed by Ethereum Foundation's cryptography team, Vitalik Buterin, and Justin Drake, among others. Nico emphasized that as quantum computing timelines accelerate, post-quantum signature deployment is becoming urgent.
