According to FinanceFeeds, on June 12, Ethereum developers are evaluating EIP-8182, a proposal to introduce native privacy transfers for ETH and ERC-20 tokens in the Hegotá hard fork. Created by Facet co-founder Tom Lehman on March 3, the proposal implements a protocol-level shielded pool system using zero-knowledge proofs and a UTXO model rather than Ethereum's account-balance model. If included in Hegotá, the upgrade would be one of Ethereum's most significant privacy enhancements; however, inclusion remains uncertain as developers continue assessing cryptographic assumptions, state growth, and denial-of-service risks.
