Espresso Launches Flock, Fastest SNARK Prover to Complete Bitcoin Block Proof in 2.5 Seconds

According to Foresight News, Espresso launched Flock, a SNARK prover co-developed with Succinct and NYU researchers, that can complete a Bitcoin block signature hash proof in 2.5 seconds. The prover is currently the fastest available, achieving performance 3 times better than Vitalik Buterin's Ethereum post-quantum transition benchmark.

On a consumer-grade MacBook with Apple M4 Max, Flock performs 661,000 Blake3 compression operations and 338,000 SHA-256 operations per second—approximately 9 times faster than Binius64 on SHA-256 and 14 times faster than both Binius64 and Plonky3 on Blake3. The protocol remains a research prototype and is now open-source.
