China's Raw Coal Output Falls 1.7% in May to 400 Million Metric Tons

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, China's raw coal output for large-scale industrial enterprises reached 400 million metric tons in May, declining 1.7% year-on-year, with an average daily output of 12.81 million metric tons. For the first five months of 2026, cumulative raw coal production totaled 1.98 billion metric tons, down 0.3% compared to the same period last year.
