China's Embassy in Thailand Issues Travel Warning for Myanmar Border Region on June 24

According to Jin10, on June 24, China's Embassy in Thailand issued a consular warning advising Chinese citizens to exercise caution when traveling to the Myanmar-Thailand border region, including Tak Province and Mae Sot. The embassy reported that several Chinese citizens who previously visited these areas faced heightened scrutiny at Thai immigration and some were denied entry. The embassy recommended that Chinese travelers plan itineraries carefully, avoid sensitive border areas unrelated to legitimate tourism or business, and refrain from engaging in illegal activities or heeding offers of high-paying jobs, investment opportunities, or gambling promotions. Those who have previously visited the border region are advised to assess potential entry risks before attempting to re-enter Thailand.
