China Warns Japan's Military Expansion Threatens Regional Peace Over Ukraine Drone Cooperation

According to Jin10, China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun warned on June 23 that Japan's military expansion threatens regional peace, following reports of Ukraine seeking closer drone cooperation with Japan. Guo stated that Beijing believes nations should conduct cooperation to promote regional peace and stability. He said Japan has pursued aggressive remilitarization in recent years, developed long-range offensive weapons, lifted restrictions on lethal weapons exports, expanded Self-Defense Force operations, and built combat-ready military systems, thereby violating Japan's pacifist constitution and international law principles. Guo characterized Japan's military expansion as "neo-militarism" that challenges the post-war international order, calling on the international community to remain vigilant.
