China's Annual Electricity Consumption to Rise by 600 Billion kWh During 15th Five-Year Plan

According to the National Energy Administration announced today at a State Council press conference on June 26, China's annual electricity consumption is expected to increase by approximately 600 billion kWh during the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030) period. National Energy Administration Power Supply Division Director Du Zhongming attributed the growth to surging demand for data center power, rapid expansion of electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and rising electricity needs from other industries and residential users.
