China Meteorological Administration Activates Level III Emergency Response for Heavy Rain and Severe Convection on June 15

On June 15, the China Meteorological Administration activated a Level III emergency response for heavy rain and severe convective weather, upgrading from the previous Level IV alert for rainstorms. The Central Meteorological Bureau has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain and a blue alert for severe convection.

According to the agency's forecast, major precipitation is expected from June 15 to 17 across Guangdong, Guangxi, southern Fujian, southern Jiangxi, western and eastern Yunnan, southern Sichuan, and southwestern Guizhou, with localized extreme rainfall in coastal areas. Eastern Inner Mongolia, northeastern regions, northern China, and eastern Huai River basin are expected to experience thunderstorms with potential severe convection including hail and strong winds.
