China Imposes 55% Tariff on Australian Beef Imports Starting June 20

According to China's Ministry of Commerce, Australian beef imports under the safeguard measure reached 100% of the quota specified in Announcement 2025 No. 87 on June 18. Beginning June 20 at 0:00 UTC, beef imported from Australia will face an additional 55% tariff on top of the existing applicable tariff rate.

The additional tariff is triggered automatically once the quota is fully reached, with the tariff taking effect on the third day following the milestone date.
