China's Commerce Ministry Releases 17-Item AI+Consumption Initiative on June 18

According to CCTV News, on June 18, China's Ministry of Commerce and seven other ministries released an implementation opinion to advance "AI+consumption" development, proposing 17 specific measures across five areas including intelligent commerce goods, service consumption, and related ecosystems. The initiative aims to accelerate AI technology penetration into consumer markets through both supply and demand-side initiatives, addressing structural gaps such as "products without markets" and "demand without supply." Key focus areas include expanding smart terminal products, advancing humanoid robots for consumer use, and enhancing AI applications in healthcare, elderly care, tourism, hospitality, and education sectors.
