China Backs Safe Hormuz Strait Transit After Iran-US First Phase Accord on June 16

According to China's Foreign Ministry on June 16, spokesman Lin Jian stated that Beijing noted the first phase memorandum of understanding reached between Iran and the U.S., which includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz. Lin said that safe and free transit through the internationally-used waterway aligns with all parties' interests, and China supports resuming secure passage through the strait as soon as possible.
