China Accuses Japan of 'Remilitarization' Amid Militarism Concerns on June 11

According to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian on June 11, China rejected Japan's claims of maintaining a 'pacifist' development path, saying Japan has removed the mask of a 'peace-loving nation.' While Japan verbally advocates 'peace' and 'defense,' Lin said the country is aggressively pursuing remilitarization through expanded military budgets, relaxed lethal weapons exports, mid-to-long-range missile deployment, enhanced offensive military capabilities, accumulated sensitive nuclear materials, and constitutional peace clause amendments. Lin called for international vigilance against any resurgence of Japanese militarism.
