China Calls for Restraint in Iran-U.S. Talks on June 9, Warns Against Military Escalation

On June 9, China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated that Iran-U.S. negotiations are at a critical stage and urged all parties to refrain from reigniting military conflict. According to Lin, military approaches cannot solve the problem, and resorting to force will only complicate matters. He called on relevant parties to exercise calm and restraint, cease confrontational actions that could escalate tensions, and pursue political and diplomatic channels to resolve disputes and achieve a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire, while respecting regional countries' sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.
