Brent Crude, Gold, Silver Boost Trading Volume and Open Interest on June 3, CME Data Shows

According to CME data released on June 3, precious metals and energy futures showed mixed activity. Gold futures logged 119,880 contracts traded with 328,103 open interest, up 9,688 and 2,051 contracts respectively; silver futures recorded 42,978 traded and 103,235 open interest, rising 3,564 and 426 contracts. In energy markets, WTI crude oil futures volume reached 843,558 contracts with 2,024,216 open interest, while Brent crude oil posted 167,727 traded and 238,590 open interest, both up significantly. Natural gas futures traded 381,902 contracts with 1,665,751 open interest, up 9,154 and 1,748 contracts respectively. Brent crude, natural gas, gold, and silver showed simultaneous increases in both trading volume and open interest, indicating heightened market participation.
