Bithumb Updates Security Roadmap to Address Quantum, AI Threats on June 18

Bithumb, South Korea's major cryptocurrency exchange, announced on June 18 it held its second regular information security advisory meeting on June 11 to review next-generation security strategies, including post-quantum cryptography (PQC), AI-based security automation, and expanded bug bounty programs. The meeting, which included Bithumb CEO Lee Jae-won and Kim Seung-joo, a professor at Korea University, discussed implementing a 'Quantum Ready' strategy that accounts for future cryptographic algorithm changes. Bithumb also plans to expand security automation and vulnerability patch systems using AI, and will increase participation from external security experts in its bug bounty program.
