South Korea Becomes Fourth Country to Sign AI Safety Partnership with OpenAI on June 17

According to the Ministry of Science and ICT, South Korea formed an AI security partnership with OpenAI on June 17, becoming the fourth country to do so under a memorandum of understanding with the country's AI Safety Institute. The agreement commits both sides to share technical information and help develop a global framework for evaluating AI safety that incorporates the Korean language and South Korea's social context. OpenAI previously signed similar agreements with AI safety institutes in the US, the UK, and Japan.
