Ethereum Glamsterdam Hardfork Targets 200M Gas Limit, Cuts ETH Transfer Fees Up to 71%

ETH-2.57%

According to ChainCatcher, Ethereum's Glamsterdam hardfork entered final testnet on Tuesday, locking 10 EIP proposals and targeting a 200 million Gas limit—3x the current 60 million level. Core upgrades EIP-7732 and EIP-7928 implement proposer-builder separation and parallel transaction processing to support the increase.

Standard ETH transfers could be up to 71% cheaper under EIP-2780. Mainnet activation is targeted for September–December 2026 after verification on Holesky and Hoodi testnets. The 200 million Gas limit is a design goal; validators will signal increases via Gas voting.
