Bipartisan Senators Introduce Resolution Against SBF Pardon on June 17

On Wednesday, Senators Rubén Gallego (D-AZ) and Cynthia Lummis (R-WY), the top lawmakers on the Senate Banking Subcommittee on Digital Assets, introduced a bipartisan resolution opposing any presidential pardon or commutation for Sam Bankman-Fried. The non-binding measure rejects the imprisoned FTX founder's claim that his prosecution was political persecution. Gallego stated Bankman-Fried had shown "no remorse" for his crimes, while Lummis said he was "chasing clemency he hasn't earned."
