Apple is facing a $1.8M lawsuit filed on July 24 at a Californian court over a fake Sparrow Bitcoin wallet on its App Store. Three victims—James Ramirez, Christopher Ellis, and Jalen Delgado—claimed the company failed to warn users about the spoofed application and its risks to cryptocurrency and private keys. The trio lost a combined $1.8M between May and August last year ($875K, $840K, and $120K respectively) after scammers exploited a fake iOS version of Sparrow Wallet, which is only available on Windows, macOS, and Linux. According to the complaint, users found their accounts wiped out and assets transferred to scammers' wallets.
