Apple Eyes CXMT and YMTC as New Memory Suppliers, Expanding Total to Five

According to Bloomberg, on July 1, Apple is in talks with Chinese memory chip makers CXMT and YMTC to purchase components for devices sold in China. The discussions are ongoing and no final agreement has been reached. CXMT manufactures DRAM chips, while YMTC produces NAND flash memory. Apple currently sources memory from Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron; adding the two Chinese suppliers would bring its total number of memory suppliers to five.
