AMD Ventures Invests in Japanese Self-Driving Startup Turing; Raises US$79 Million at US$600M Valuation

According to Bloomberg, on July 6, Japanese autonomous driving software startup Turing raised US$79 million in an extended Series A round, with AMD Ventures joining as a new investor and valuing the company at approximately US$600 million. As part of the investment, Turing began adopting AMD graphics processing units (GPUs) for about 10% of its AI training, diversifying away from its previous reliance on Nvidia hardware to lower costs ahead of a planned commercial launch by 2028.
