According to insiders, Amazon is phasing out multiple flagship AI models this year, including the Premier and Omni models, Reel video generation model, and Canvas image generation model, as the company refocuses its AI strategy. The company is concentrating engineering talent and computing resources on a new internal project called Frontier Model Research (FMR), led by researcher Peter Abel, shifting resources away from its Nova model line. A new flagship foundation model developed under FMR is expected to be announced at the company's re:Invent annual conference in fall, according to Business Insider.
