On June 7, the Shielded Labs research team behind Zcash (ZEC) published the Ironwood network upgrade proposal to address an unlimited counterfeiting vulnerability discovered on May 29. The proposal enables users to independently verify ZEC's total supply integrity by running a node, preventing unauthorized coin issuance from flowing into other pools or circulating covertly. The market responded positively to the supply verification mechanism. ZEC rebounded to $424 as of June 8, 10:30 a.m. UTC on CoinGecko, representing a 40% recovery from the $304 low following the vulnerability disclosure, though still below the pre-disclosure level of approximately $605.
