On June 4, Visa and Brale launched a proof-of-concept project to evaluate private blockchain-based settlement for institutional payment flows. The initiative will use SBC, a U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin, on the Canton Network to assess whether privacy-focused blockchain infrastructure can support enterprise-grade transaction requirements while maintaining compliance and operational oversight.
The project will examine how blockchain-enabled settlement can improve transaction speed, enhance programmability, and increase efficiency while protecting sensitive financial information. According to Brale, the collaboration represents an important step toward making stablecoin-powered settlement more practical and scalable for real-world payment activity.
