Mastercard Expands XRP Ledger Settlement to Support Intraday, Weekend Transactions

According to Ripple, Mastercard announced plans to support XRP Ledger-based settlement using RLUSD stablecoin on June 3, enabling intraday, weekend and holiday transaction options across its global network. The initiative will support multiple regulated stablecoins including USDC, PYUSD and USDG.

Mastercard will leverage XRPL's low transaction costs and near-instant finality for time-sensitive payment flows. Initial partners include Cross River, Lead Bank, CBW Bank, ARQ and Nuvei, with additional partners expected through 2026.
