Vietnam to Fine Users Up to $1,900 for Trading on Unlicensed Crypto Platforms Starting September 1

According to Decree No. 284/2026/NĐ-CP issued on July 16, Vietnam will fine individuals up to 50 million Vietnamese dong, equivalent to approximately $1,900, for conducting cryptocurrency transactions through unlicensed service providers. The decree takes effect on September 1, 2026, and represents a shift toward concentrating digital-asset activity within Vietnam's regulated domestic market.
