According to Yonhapinfomax, the Korean won weakened to 1,466.80 per U.S. dollar on July 27 morning, up 0.20 won from the previous Seoul close and 8.30 won from New York's prior close, as importers stepped in to buy dollars following recent sharp depreciation. The rate briefly touched 1,467.00 won during morning trading. The recovery was supported by sustained dollar inflows from SK Hynix's ADR listing and strong importer settlement demand, while foreign investors' consecutive two-day net selling also boosted dollar demand through custodial buying. Bank traders noted that the 80-90 won swing in recent days created attractive entry points for dollar purchases.
