USD/KRW Falls to 1,458.50 on July 25, Down 15.70 from Previous Close as Exporters Sell Dollars

According to Yonhapinfomax, the USD/KRW exchange rate retreated to 1,458.50 won on July 25, down 15.70 won from the previous day's New York close of 1,474.20 won. The decline was driven by sustained dollar-selling pressure from South Korean exporters and offshore dollar futures positions, which accumulated over consecutive trading days. Foreign investors continued to net-sell dollar futures, with positions exceeding 38,000 contracts. The pair had earlier peaked at 1,476.30 won before shifting sharply lower as month-end and weekend-approaching negotiations from export firms flooded the market with dollar supply.
