U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve Hits Two-Year Low at 357.1 Million Barrels

According to U.S. Department of Energy data released this week, the nation's strategic petroleum reserve fell to 357.1 million barrels, the lowest level since January 2024. The Trump administration continues large-scale releases to address energy supply concerns stemming from U.S.-Iran tensions and Strait of Hormuz disruptions. Weekly inventory declined by 8 million barrels, following decreases of 9.1 million and a record 9.9 million barrels in the prior two weeks.
