The three major U.S. stock indices declined at the opening on July 1 (Wednesday). The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 126.71 points, or 0.24%, to 52,192.49; the S&P 500 dropped 35.86 points, or 0.48%, to 7,463.50; the Nasdaq Composite declined 178.81 points, or 0.68%, to 26,034.91.
