U.S. Intensifies Strikes on Iran With 170+ Targets in Two Days; Direct Talks Remain Absent

According to sources aware of the discussions, U.S. Vice President Vance and envoys Wittkoff and Kushner have maintained contact with Qatari officials this week following a sharp escalation of attacks between the U.S. and Iran. The U.S. responded to Iranian strikes on ships in the Strait of Hormuz with intensive strikes on at least 170 targets within two days, prompting new Iranian attacks on American allies in the Persian Gulf. Mediators from Qatar, Pakistan, and other countries are working to ease tensions.

While Iran has confirmed it is engaging with mediators, there are no indications of any new direct contact between U.S. and Iranian officials.
