U.S. Inspectors General Launch Review of Iran Military Action Over 60-Day War Powers Limit

According to CNN on June 3, inspectors general from the U.S. Department of Defense, State Department, and U.S. Agency for International Development have jointly initiated a review of U.S. military actions against Iran. Under the U.S. War Powers Resolution, the president must notify Congress within 60 days of deploying military force and either halt the operation or seek congressional authorization to continue. On May 1, President Trump wrote to Congress stating that hostile actions against Iran had 'ended', in apparent effort to circumvent the 60-day deadline.
