U.S. and Iran to Sign Ceasefire Memorandum in Geneva on June 19

According to CCTV, the United States and Iran announced a ceasefire memorandum of understanding following months of negotiations, with the formal signing ceremony scheduled for June 19 in Geneva, Switzerland. The agreement drew skepticism from several U.S. senators and officials concerned about its terms.

Professor Diao Daming from China's Renmin University stated that domestic disagreement would not substantially impede the signing. He noted that the memorandum, as an executive agreement, does not require congressional approval. Concerns raised by senators like Lindsey Graham primarily target future final agreements to be negotiated over the next 60 days, not the current memorandum.
