U.S. 30-Year Treasury Yields Hold Above 5% for 15 Straight Trading Days, Longest Streak Since 2007

CCB2.39%
According to Yonhapinfomax, as of July 27, U.S. 30-year Treasury yields remained above 5% for a 15th consecutive trading day, marking the longest such streak since 2007. Analysts from CCB International said yields hovering around 5% are likely to become more common, reflecting growing investor concerns over U.S. fiscal sustainability rather than near-term Fed policy shifts. Rising national debt from defense spending and proposed tax cuts, combined with Middle East geopolitical risks, are pushing up long-term rate premiums. However, strategists expect further upside may be limited unless inflation resurges and the Fed adopts a more hawkish stance.
