Doosan Q2 Operating Profit Rises 37.8% to 488.4B Won on AI Chip Demand

Doosan Corp. reported on July 27 that its second-quarter operating profit rose 37.8% year-on-year to 488.4 billion won (US$332 million), with revenue reaching 5.6 trillion won (US$3.8 billion). The South Korean industrial group's operating margin improved to 8.7%, driven by strong demand for AI servers and semiconductors.

The company's Electronics Business Group posted record quarterly revenue of 765.2 billion won (US$520 million) and operating profit of 212 billion won (US$144 million), fueled by sales of high-value electronic materials and substrates for AI servers. Doosan Enerbility, the group's power equipment affiliate, reported revenue of 4.7 trillion won (US$3.21 billion) with operating profit of 314.3 billion won (US$214 million).
