UN Secretary-General Calls for Immediate Ceasefire Between Afghanistan and Pakistan on June 29

According to UN spokesman Stéphane Dujarric, on June 29, Secretary-General António Guterres expressed deep concern over recent violence between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Guterres called for an immediate cessation of hostilities, protection of civilians, and resolution of differences through diplomatic channels. Dujarric stated that all parties must fulfill their obligations under international humanitarian law, and civilian populations and infrastructure must be protected at all times.
