Ukraine's ARMA Receives $8.3M in USDT, First Time Seized Crypto Moved to State Control

According to CoinDesk, Ukraine's Prosecutor General's Office announced that it transferred over $8.3 million in USDT to the National Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA). This marks the first time Ukraine has successfully placed seized cryptocurrency under state control. The transfer, ordered by court, stemmed from the National Bureau of Investigation's probe into an international hacking group. The funds came from a wallet belonging to one group member suspected of conducting cyberattacks against individuals and businesses in Europe and the U.S., followed by money laundering through real estate and vehicles in Ukraine. The assets remain in custody and require a court conviction before formal forfeiture. Four suspects have been detained, with estimated damages exceeding $100 million.
