According to UBS investment banking economists on July 23, UK inflation is expected to accelerate after slowing in June, potentially peaking at 3.3% in November. The economists project that utility bills will rise in July, pushing year-over-year headline inflation from June's 2.6% to as high as 2.9%. They anticipate food and goods inflation will intensify by year-end as higher input costs, particularly energy and fertilizer, gradually pass through to consumers. Rising tensions in the Middle East pose additional upside risks to inflation, they added.
