TSMC Commits Additional $100 Billion to Arizona Factory, Raising Total Investment to $265 Billion

According to CNBC, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) committed an additional $100 billion to accelerate capacity at its Arizona factory on Thursday, July 16, 2026, bringing total investment in the U.S. state to $265 billion. Chief Financial Officer Wendell Huang told CNBC the company is scaling up operations to meet multi-year structural demand for AI chips. The fresh commitment also prompted TSMC to raise its full-year capital expenditure guidance to between $60 billion and $64 billion.
