Trump Administration Pardons BitMEX Parent Company HDR Global Trading, Waives $100M Fine

According to Bloomberg, the Trump administration on March 27, 2025 pardoned HDR Global Trading, the parent company of cryptocurrency exchange BitMEX, waiving a $100 million penalty imposed for violations of anti-money-laundering regulations. The pardon covered the company and four former executives including co-founder Arthur Hayes.

Enterprise pardons under Trump's second term have now cumulatively exempted approximately $200 million in fines, with some funds originally designated for victim compensation.
