TrendForce Cuts 2026 Server Shipment Forecast to 13% YoY Growth Amid Component Shortages

Gate News message, April 15 — TrendForce has revised its 2026 server shipment forecast downward to approximately 13% year-over-year growth, down from an earlier projection of nearly 20%, citing extended lead times for general-purpose server components.

The research firm noted that while AI is driving demand for both general-purpose and AI servers in 2026, suppliers are prioritizing production capacity for higher-margin AI servers, causing significant delays in component delivery for general-purpose servers and limiting the market’s ability to meet potential demand.
