According to Bloomberg, traders raised bets on Federal Reserve rate hikes by mid-2027 on May 12, with derivatives reflecting a 21 basis-point increase before the June 2027 meeting, down from 24 basis points previously. Lindsey Piegza, chief economist at Stifel, said discussions about a new round of rate hikes may be approaching, but first the Fed would likely remove dovish language from its statement and reaffirm its cautious stance.
