Texas Gas Hub Breaks into Positive Territory at 35 Cents, Ending 131-Day Losing Streak

According to Jin10 Data, the spot delivery price at the Waha hub in Texas, a key indicator of shale basin natural gas prices, turned positive at 35 cents per million British thermal units on Monday, marking the first time since February that prices have moved above zero. The price had been negative for 131 consecutive days. Rising temperatures, expanded pipeline capacity following recent maintenance work, and signs of pipeline expansion efforts all contributed to the price recovery. The development represents positive news for major producers including Permian Resources and Devon Energy, which had previously shut in wells with high oil-to-gas ratios to conserve capital.
