Tepper's Appaloosa Cuts Microsoft by 82%, Allocates $179 Million to SanDisk in Q1 2026

According to regulatory filings, billionaire investor David Tepper's hedge fund Appaloosa Management reduced its Microsoft holdings by 82% during Q1 2026, while establishing a new $179 million position in memory chipmaker SanDisk, representing approximately 3% of the fund's portfolio.

Microsoft shares fell 23% in the quarter, the worst performance since the 2008 financial crisis, amid investor concerns over AI capital expenditure returns and competition in enterprise productivity software.
