Taiwan Proposes $6.6B Drone Budget to Buy 208,000+ Attack Drones by 2031

According to Central News Agency, on June 18, Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense proposed a special budget spending $6.6 billion over six years to purchase more than 208,000 domestically made coastal attack drones, along with over 1,400 coastal reconnaissance drones and 1,320 uncrewed surface vessels between 2026 and 2031. The procurement plan aims to strengthen Taiwan's military capabilities amid security concerns from China.
