Spain Authorizes Venga as MiCA-Compliant Crypto Platform on July 1

According to ChainCatcher, Spain's National Securities Market Commission authorized cryptocurrency platform Venga on July 1, 2026, under the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA). The authorization allows Venga to operate across all 27 EU member states under a single regulatory framework. The MiCA transition period became effective on July 1, requiring previously registered digital asset companies to obtain formal approval or cease providing regulated services. Approximately 240 crypto firms have received complete MiCA authorization from the EU, with fewer than 15 approved in Spain, compared to over 3,000 local virtual asset service providers previously registered across EU member states.
