According to Hankyoreh, South Korea's retail cryptocurrency trading volume in the first quarter of 2026 reached $69 billion, maintaining the global second-place ranking but experiencing a 28% year-over-year decline—the steepest drop among major markets. By comparison, the United States led with $212 billion in trading volume during the same period, followed by Russia at $4.8 billion and India at $4.6 billion.
