South Korea's KOSPI Rebounds to 7,096.89 on July 23, Up 4.4% as Alphabet Boosts Semiconductor Sentiment

According to Newsis, South Korea's KOSPI index closed at 7,096.89 on July 23, up 299.19 points or 4.4%, reclaiming the 7,000 level for the first time in five trading days. The rally was driven by Google parent Alphabet's better-than-expected second-quarter earnings and capital expenditure guidance, which renewed confidence in artificial intelligence infrastructure investment and data center expansion.

Foreign investors led the rebound, recording net purchases of 2.148 trillion Korean won. Over four consecutive trading days through July 23, foreigners bought 5.5841 trillion won in stocks, with SK Hynix (2.756 trillion won) and Samsung Electronics (1.7286 trillion won) as primary targets.
