According to South Korea's exchange, individual investors sold off 6.8 trillion won in equities over 3 trading days ending July 23, amid extreme market volatility. Foreign investors purchased 6.8 trillion won during the same period, creating a sharp contrast. Retail investors conducted consecutive sell-offs beginning July 21, recording 2.2 trillion won in net sales on July 21, followed by 1.9 trillion won and 2.5 trillion won on subsequent days. Investment deposit balances dropped significantly from 139 trillion won in early July to 106 trillion won as of July 21, representing an outflow of approximately 33 trillion won.
