According to Yonhapinfomax, South Korea's foreign exchange swap points shifted higher on July 27 amid abundant U.S. dollar supply and tight Korean won liquidity. The 1-month FX swap point closed at +0.10 won, marking the first time it turned positive in approximately four years and two months since June 2022. The 1-year swap point rose to -12.20 won, up 0.70 won from opening. Market participants attributed the surge to dollar inflows from World Government Bond Index inclusion and SK Hynix's U.S. ADR listing, while won supply remained constrained.
